A Möbius-inspired steel staircase for the Hualing Group showroom in Loudi, Hunan, China. Its looping form brings a continuous visual line into the exhibition space.
The Hualing showroom staircase
The brief called for a staircase with a strong presence in a corporate exhibition space. The Möbius-inspired form becomes a focal point, connecting the stair with the experience of moving through the showroom.
The photographs show the orange-red steel form within the exhibition setting: a continuous curve, an open centre and a changing silhouette as the view moves around it.
A sculptural staircase brings the visual idea and the practical work into the same discussion. Support conditions, curved components, fabrication joints and access for delivery all need consideration.
BUBUJIA’s work on the project brought together curved steel fabrication, surface preparation and factory trial assembly before dispatch.
This showroom project in China is presented to illustrate a design and manufacturing direction. A new staircase requires its own geometry, materials, connections and site coordination.
