The main cost decisions
| Decision | Information needed for a comparable quotation |
|---|---|
| Geometry and scale | Floor height, opening, usable route, curve, landings and quantity. |
| Structure and interfaces | The proposed support system, steelwork, connections and site conditions. |
| Treads and guarding | Materials, finish build-up, handrail and balustrade, edge details and any lighting interfaces. |
| Surface finish | Colour and sample requirements, preparation, coating and exposure conditions. |
| Fabrication and assembly | Component complexity, trial-assembly scope, shipping sections and agreed records. |
| Delivery and site work | Packing, handover, freight, customs, unloading, lifting, installation and final finishing. |
Compare quotations against the same drawing
Give each supplier the same drawing revision and finish brief. Ask for a clear list of included, excluded and provisional items. A total for the steel structure cannot be compared directly with a total that includes treads, guarding and installation.
Record the currency, quotation validity, payment stages and the assumptions that affect the price. Resolve changes to dimensions, finishes or site scope before manufacture.
Separate the overseas delivery costs
BUBUJIA’s manufacturing scope and the logistics scope must be stated separately. The customer or appointed freight forwarder arranges export customs, sea freight, destination clearance and inland delivery. Agree the packing, loading and handover point in the contract.
Also identify destination taxes and charges, insurance, unloading, lifting, local installation, site finishing and inspection. Ask the appointed forwarder and local project team to confirm the items they handle for the actual destination.
If BUBUJIA staff will attend the site, define the tasks, programme, local working arrangements, travel and service costs separately.
Send enough information for the next step
Start with your country and city, building use, floor height, opening plan and reference photographs. Add structural information, finish preferences, target dates and your intended installer where available. We can then identify the missing decisions and discuss the next quotation step.
A quotation is not a production drawing. Confirm the site dimensions, approved details and final scope before fabrication begins.
